Tessa Fox

Inspired by locations that have had an impact upon the artist, Tessa Fox produces poetry and written works that inform her practice. Placing herself in locations that evoke sentiment or raw emotions, she documents the space and place through her use of language and text; the writing is often raw and automatic in nature and she captures for herself the feelings surrounding place and memory. These writings are then pushed forward into pieces that best represent the work, ranging from sculpture to print or performance. Also often bringing found objects back with her from the site, Fox also explores the connections that can be felt to an object and whether the extraction of it from the space changes its context.
