Rosie Lord

On discovering the rich and visually fertile films of underground genre ‘Giallo’, a strain of 1970s Italian horror, Rosie Lord has been inspired to use the style as a vehicle to convey her own messages. Taking the visual language of directors such as Argento, Fulci and Bava and appropriating it, Lord aims to take the viewer on a journey through a dream-space of dazzling lights, sounds and suspense. Lord mainly uses film and installation as a medium, and her work is often autobiographical, with themes of identity, confusion and inner turmoil reoccurring.
