James Townrow

James Townrow works with concepts surrounding systems of society and place. He explores change, destruction and creation through the use of repetition and reproduction in paint, focusing heavily on the use of wooden panels to isolate and demarcate space and structure. The works highlight certain concepts and adopts them through the use of stylised motifs. Through this Townrow explores immediate environmental factors to his work, hinting at wider concepts such as homelessness and politics within past works.
