Emma Binns is unafraid to explore sensitive topics within her artworks. She loves to experiment with multiple ideas and approaches her work with an open mind so as not to limit her understanding or imagination. The core of her practice engages with the struggles of mental health, physical health and wellbeing. Binns creates visual works, striving to reach others as well as examining the fine balance between stability and instability. She has a personal connection to these issues and she hopes universally that everyone can connect to this in some way. The main elements of Binns’s practice is painting and drawing, preferred media being acrylic paints with heavy structure gel which adds depth, surface and character.
