Diana Dergacova

Diana Dergacova’s passion for art has always reflected her fascination with animals. Yet, only recently has she been introduced to the issue of ocean pollution and the terrifying numbers of marine animals and birds that are being affected by it. Marine animals suffer from interacting with plastic debris by ingesting and getting entangled in it, which then could easily lead to death. This is what influenced her to start a series of etching prints featuring fish using human-made devices to survive, as well as environmental posters created using digital collage. Dergacova has also taken part in a huge volunteer-led Beach Clean event around the Norfolk coast. Her aim is to open human eyes and to inform as many people as possible about the pollution problem we face today, which is mainly caused by human actions.
