Daniel Tuffield draws upon his own personal experiences to create installation work, moving image and sculptures. Constructing different models in a bid to emulate feelings and emotions originally sensed by the artist, his practise involves casting techniques and moving image, playing with the use of light and organic materials.
This work conveys a message, commenting on the problems faced surrounding modern day mental health. This is achieved by using mixed media in a way that is accessible by all. Tuffield is representing the ‘end of the struggle’, emphasising epiphanies, perspective and the happiness experienced following a mental breakdown.
Tuffield’s works are a series of inanimate performance pieces, using light, mirroring and film to create a unique experience for the viewer. They are curated to explain a story of realisation and to punctuate the positive side of life.
