Billy Parkin is a multi-disciplinary artist. His work currently explores ideas of memory and erasure, narratives and relationships. He probes the very idea of artistic processes by producing and reproducing physically manipulated imagery. His work is informed by a collection of found images, which are then physically impacted upon and finally reproduced. The appropriation and alteration of the original image creates a physical statement on the permanence of memory and relationship between things, since the image from which it came no longer exists save for the traces of it that remain in his work, forcing the audience to speculate and discuss.
