Su Nicholls

Concerned with the art of making, Su Nicholls’ practice centres on her response to place and to experience, where creativity is strongly connected to the state of mindfulness, and dislocation from the nature of modern life.

Working within the multiple disciplines of photography, sculpture, textiles, print and paint, the current work is concerned with the mind’s ability to retrieve memories of experience. In considering the notions of individual experience and perception, Nicholls confronts the viewer with forms that can be both nurturing and unnerving.
