Hybrids are an important component within Sarah Peach’s work. These hybrids aim to communicate the conflicting relationship between humans and animals. The idea of how humans see themselves as ‘higher’ than animals fascinates Peach, as she believes that every species should be treated equally. By creating obscure and surreal environments, the work intends to amuse and disturb the viewer. This allows viewers to create their own narration within the artwork. Peach incorporates collage within her digital art, and this allows her to play around with images and manipulate them with ease to recreate an environment that brings to attention the lack of differences between humans and animals.
Peach’s research interests focus around animal intelligence and welfare. She is also influenced by many artists such as John Russell, Salvador Dali and Hieronymus Bosch.
